Reviews of Nokor Khmer Hotel - Siem Reap

The staff seemed to be very friendly but it turned out to be only a disguise to take more money from us.

We were offered some help with the rental of bicycles that we needed if we wanted to move freely around Siem Reap. We were first happy that hotel will bring them for us so that we can use them straight away. As we have never been to Siem Reap we didnt know the rates of the bikes. Hotel told us it would be 7 dollars per day per person.

We were surprised a bit by the price but didnt think of it much until the next day when we took a trip around Siem Reap and saw bikes for 1 dollar!!! The new ones for 2-3 dollars so now we were standing in front of the question why did the hotel wanted to overcharge us so much more on the bikes?

Why would they ruin our opinion about their hotel by scamming us on bikes?
The bikes should be included in the price of the hotel or at least available for the honest price at the hotel.

In the end, they wanted to charge us 28 dollars for 2 people 2 bikes, when in fact it costs at any other shop 4 dollar for 2 people 2 bikes!!!!

The comparison is shocking and when we tried to ask for the explanation at the reception they couldnt say anything.

But they were boasting to us about building a new swimming pool over our breakfast earlier.
Now we know how they can afford to build a new swimming pool - with the money of tourists they manage to scam!!!

They were so stingy about their breakfast that even a refill of tea or coffee was frowned upon. 2 days out of 3 breakfast arrived cold as they premade it (why would anyone cook scrambled eggs in advance, of course it is going to get cold and horrible)

Afterwards we moved out to a different hotel for 5 days which was 3 times cheaper and also they had free tea and coffee throughout the whole day.

What a difference!!!!

Shame that Nokor Khmer hotel is scrooging on its guests and scamming them into paying 3 times or even 7 times more for bike rental.

We left very disappointed by the treatment of us and dishonesty of its staff.

Avoid at all costs!!!
