ADD International is a  participatory grant-maker for disability justice.  Our  vision  is for a world in which ableism no longer exists, and people with disability can fully participate in society. Our  mission  is to strengthen disability rights activists and organisations through resourcing, and leadership skills.

 ADD International has been co-implementing the JUST Project from August 2022 to July 2025 with the CWCC. The JUST project will focus on preventing and responding to violence against women (VAW) at the intersection of VAW (different types) experienced by women with disabilities, women entertainment workers/sex workers, women in Khmer Muslim communities and LBTI groups. Women in these groups are the most marginalized experiencing stigma, discrimination, increased rates of both physical, sexual and emotional violence and are excluded from economic opportunities.

To support members of District Working Group Response GBV increased effectiveness of protection and prevention by adopts non-violent actions toward women including those with marginalized status (women and girls with disabilities, Cham, Entertainment Workers and LBTI), the JUST Project intended to hire the external consultant to design and deliver the relevant soft skill empowerment members of District Working Group Response GBV.

Reporting to : JUST Project Coordinator (directly) – Programme Team Lead (indirectly)

Period : 2 Trainings (June 2024) in Thboung Khmum and 2 Training (Sept 2024) in Kampong Spue

Location : Cambodia, travel and deliver the trainings in Thboung Khmum and Kampong Spue

Scope of consultancy.

The consultant is expected to systematically and professionally assist ADD and JUST Project team to:

  1. Deliverable 1: Conduct a comprehensive study of existing training materials to assess their effectiveness and relevance.
  2. Deliverable 2: Develop a training curriculum and accompanying materials based on the findings of the study, ensuring they are tailored to the specific needs and objectives of the organization.
  3. Deliverable 3: Facilitate the delivery of four training sessions , with one session conducted per day, utilizing the newly designed curriculum and materials to impart knowledge and skills to participants.

Safeguarding Level

We are committed to ensure we are a safe organisation, delivering safe programmes that ensure we do no harm to people we work with. Our processes ensure all posts are graded, based on interaction with children and vulnerable adults. This consultant post is a Level 2 post, see outline of all levels below:

  • Level 1 - office based, no real direct access to children/vulnerable adults.
  • Level 2 - a travelling role, possible access to children/vulnerable adults but unlikely to be alone.
  • Level 3 - regular access to children/vulnerable adults including on their own, or lead responsibility for safeguarding within office/location.

Requirements

  • Skills and Experiences: The successful consultant should have combined skills and background:
  • University Degree in Social Sciences or related field or an equivalent level of work experience
  • Substantive knowledge on soft-skills empowerment and disability inclusion
  • Substantive knowledge on gender equity, Gender Based Violence and women’s empowerment.
  • Previous experience in conducting Soft Skills Empowerment Trainings and experience deliveries those trainings to commune and district duty bearers, Organization of Person with disability and small Civil Society Organization
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with various stakeholders and to express concisely and clearly ideas and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with persons of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Builds trust and engenders morale by displaying open, transparent and credible behaviour.
  • Respects individual/cultural /gender differences; utilizes diversity to foster teamwork.
  • Ensures others’ understanding of, involvement in, and adaptation to a change process.
