Job Purpose: To inspect, repair and maintain all aspects of hotel & VCLP (Vattanac Capital Lifestyle Park) F&B outlets infrastructure and ensure the safety of all guests and associates; and to provide efficient and effective administrative support for the General Manager. Moreover, s/he is in charge of all preventive maintenance program, daily engineering support operations to ensure that department run smoothly to minimize machine down and guest’s complaint.

Duties

  • JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement maintenance program.
  • Ensure that hotel and all F&B outlets are safe, comfortable and efficient.
  • Be familiar and comply with the hotel mission and vision in performing maintenance activities.
  • Maximize maintenance team potential with a balanced focus on operations, guests, associates and owners’ satisfaction.
  • Represent the engineering department to attend daily HoD briefing.
  • Prioritize, plan and assign schedule and supervise the engineering staff.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
  • Install and maintain all equipment related to HVAC, DG Sets, Water Treatment, Fire Safety, etc.
  • Ensure proper records are kept related to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
  • Prepared reports as requested by General Manager.
  • Ensure that stores have adequate stocks of materials, equipment and tools and are kept in a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure the proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment.
  • Perform daily and weekly property document inspections.
  • Develop and implement all emergency programs.
  • Ensure that all engineering staff wears proper uniforms and upholds hotel grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Be responsible for quality service, meeting financial goals, short and long term planning and day-to-day operations.
  • GENERAL
  • Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by preventive maintaining effective relationships with hotel colleagues.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of engineering functions and makes appropriate suggestions and recommendations to the Engineering Manager.
  • Be fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform and body language.
  • Be polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented.
  • Exhibit behavioral styles that conveys confidence and command respect from others; making a good first impression and representing the business in alignment with its values.
  • Convey information and ideas to others in a convincing and engaging manner through a variety of methods. Strong public presentation skills.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of Cambodia Labor Law.
  • PERFORMANCE EVALUATION CRITERIA
  • Produce timely and efficient Engineering functions (Training improvement & benefit system)
  • Build a culture of positive working environment & employee engagement
  • Ensure general engineering works.
  • Prepare Legal compliance, report, incident report for engineering department.

Requirements

  • Job Knowledge
  • Years of related experience
  • 5 to 10 years
  • Minimum 3 years of being Chief Engineer in hotel or hospitality industry
  • Education / qualification
  • Bachelor in electrical or civil engineering
  • Essential Job Skills
  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • High degree of professionalism with sound human resources management and business acumen capabilities
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skills
  • Desirable Job Skills
  • Good communication and customer contact skills

  • CONFIRMATION OF EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in the role at required level.
  • Conversant with relevant emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant Hotel rules & regulations.
  • Knowledge of the company, hotel, and its environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety & security procedures.
  • English language requirements meet or exceeded.
