We are looking to recruit a Female Therapist to work with adult female and male survivors of trafficking. You will need to have experience, skill, and a passion to support people who have survived exploitation. In this position has a focus on working with clients on their emotional needs, in the context of a trauma informed care approach.

Salary grade: E, Starting Salary ($540)

Hours of work: 40 hours a week.

Travel requirements: Regular travel to the provinces with overnight stays (8-15 days/ month)

Additional benefits: 13-month salary, health allowance & insurance, meals (Breakfast & Lunch), self-care allowance and education allowance.

Job purpose and brief:

Purpose: To provide therapeutic support to female and male clients that enables them to achieve greater well-being, especially in emotional, social, and spiritual areas.

Brief: Therapists have a focus on working with clients on their emotional needs, in the context of a trauma informed care approach. They are responsible for assessment of clients as well as families in this area and for providing a range of therapeutic approaches to support healing and restoration. This involves working closely with the wider team of caregivers and case managers, and promoting strong trauma informed care by all staff, while managing assessments and interventions with a specific caseload of clients and their families.

Duties

  • Coordinate and deliver client need assessment, and assessments of family/ community situations with respect to emotional and social issues.
  • Formulate action plans in consultation with clients that address both short and long-term needs.
  • Deliver regular individual and group therapy sessions to clients using a variety of tools and approaches.
  • Ensure that planned interventions involving other staff or agencies are carried out, supporting clients with legal, police and other meetings as required.
  • Monitor and assess clients' progress towards agreed goals, including revising plans and interventions in response to the results of this monitoring.
  • Keep consistent and comprehensive records regarding action taken and assessments made in line with Ratanak policy and guidelines.
  • Support, encourage and correct home advisors and other staff involved in client’s emotional care.
  • Actively engage with partner agencies who provide therapeutic services, including coordination meetings and regular updates. Address any gaps in or problems with client care and services.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences and team briefings, including planning and strategy meetings as required.
  • Engage in ongoing personal development to ensure best practice in therapeutic work and management of self and workload.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge 
  • Essential:
  • Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • At least 3 years experience of using therapy within a context of trauma recovery.
  • Experience with use of tools for client assessment.
  • Experience working in a residential and community setting.
  • Experience in facilitation in reflective practice, linking interactions to the theory of trauma, attachment, and human development.
  • Experience of working with NGOs and Mental Health Clinics.
  • Thorough knowledge of using IT.
  • Experience of or willingness to engage with personal therapy.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience and knowledge of trafficking and exploitation issues.
  • At least 2 years of active membership in a church community.
