CIS seeks a native Khmer speaker, diplomatic communicator and engaging facilitator for the position of Parent Relations Officer.
The Parent Relations Officer will serve as an effective liaison with families, as well as an efficient interlocutor between internal teams. They will resolve parent inquiries, manage the main reception area, contact parents on behalf of teachers, and support parent events. The position would be suitable for a mature, approachable, highly organized individual with refined customer service skills. Candidates who also have Korean or Mandarin language skills are especially encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Services in the Community Centre
- Promptly answer phone calls in a pleasant, informed manner
- Greet and assist students, families and other guests arriving in person
- Label incoming mail and shipments, and inform the owners that the items have arrived
- Contact parents and other relevant parties when needed
- Work closely with teachers and the principals to update student attendance records
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of report cards and parent ID cards
- Receive parent queries and see them through to resolution by liaising with relevant teams
- Events and support for new families
- Provide interpretation assistance during parent orientations and in the main reception area if needed
- Help to organize and facilitate orientation sessions for new families, and to co-host parent events such as social evenings and hands-on experience days
- Contribute to collaborative processes aimed at improving support and services for families
- Fulfill role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students in the school
Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in office administration, events management or customer service (e.g. front desk management) role, ideally in an international school environment
- Experience engaging directly with families
- Experience providing Khmer-English interpretation support a strong asset
- Knowledge, Competencies and Attributes
- Good ICT skills; working knowledge of Google Workspace, namely Google Sheets and Forms
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Khmer; Korean or Mandarin language skills an advantage
- Good systems thinker and excellent critical thinking skills
- Polite and clear when communicating in difficult situations
- Strong interpersonal skills, and able to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders and to communicate across teams
- Creative and keen to contribute new and relevant ideas to support parent-school partnerships
- Demonstrates cultural competence and enjoys learning about new cultures
- Comfortable meeting and greeting new people, as well as addressing small and large groups
