Job vacancy Security and Traffic Controller

CIS seeks experienced candidates for the position of Security and Traffic Controller.

The Security and Traffic Controller maintains the safety and security of students, staff, guests and parents on or near CIS property. They also set up traffic control systems  and manually direct road traffic and pedestrian flows near the school on regular school days, during school events and if there is an emergency.

Duties

• Patrol school grounds and notify the Operations Team if there is an emergency or a potentially dangerous or unusual situation
• Monitor the school entrance, greet visitors, check for proper identification and assist visitors with direction
• Give and receive radio updates to coordinate with other security and traffic controllers and Operations Team members
• Control vehicular traffic and direct pedestrians to ensure public safety at the beginning and end of the school day, during events or in the event of an emergency
• Deliver documents and supplies to designated areas, assist with event set-up and take-down, such as by moving furniture and sound systems and assist with the upkeep of the school facilities on request

Requirements

• Qualifications and Experience
• High school diploma preferred
• At least 2 years of related experience; professional experience in a corporate or international school setting preferred
• Experience as a driver and having a valid driver’s license (D2) an advantage
• Knowledge, Competencies and Attributes
• Khmer-language skills and basic English-language skills required
• Comfortable communicating with international staff and families
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work well under pressure and manage a complex physical environment
• Comfortable working outdoors and in inclement weather
• Physical stamina and ability to stay on one’s feet for long shifts
• Organized, focused and able to follow detailed instructions
• Willingness to work shifts and to work on any given day of the calendar year
