H&K International School - Phnom Penh

Our Pasteur Campus is the first of its kind in Cambodia. Our vision for this campus is to create and develop a learning environment which nurtures innovative, creative, kind, talented, and responsible people who will be able to adapt to uncertain futures, solve problems that are largely unknown to us today, and help in many different ways to make the world a better place for all who are sharing it.

Our approaches to teaching the children reflect humanistic principles of treating each young person carefully and as a unique individual. We are not creating mindless mechanical robots at our school who simply copy what they have been told to copy. human beings who, in many individual ways, can express freedom, passion, and determination. In our approaches to nurturing their learning, we, therefore, seek to be kind, supportive, and respectful to every child in our care.

Our school is a learning community and we teach the young people in our community, in ways which nurture their self-confidence, their abilities to communicate, and their capacities to think. The children learn from the exceptional team of adult role models around them. We have fantastic teachers and teacher assistants; these are highly motivated, engaging, and friendly people who each bring very special skills and talents to their work.
We also focus our curriculum on developing Cambodia’s first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) based education program for children from 2 to 6 years of age. The campus has state of the art equipment and resources in every learning area, including our very own Makerspace with a 3-D printer, computer network cutter, and a digital technology center with iPads, interactive whiteboards, and video production equipment.

With access to this sort of technology and the instructors who teach the children how to use it, the children experience the joy and satisfaction of exercising their imaginations to design, solve problems, and create for the real world.

We employ the IEYC (International Early Years Curriculum) as the internationally recognized learning program that leads to the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) as our students grow. Our choice for these curricula support the transfer of children between many international schools both in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and worldwide.

We are an officially licensed school, with the local Ministry of Education. And as our student numbers increase, we will then begin to teach the Khmer national curriculum as well, for students who wish to gain entrance and successfully study at any local university.

We are very proud of the professional teams of administrators, teachers, and teacher assistants who are helping to start up H&K International School. Everyone is well qualified, very experienced, and all have safety clearances to work with children. We are confident that when you meet us and visit our school, you will feel the same sense of excitement and inspiration.

We began our first term in the first week of September 2017. We are currently limiting the places in order to provide the best quality service to our first students.
