Duration: 6 months beginning 1st June until 30th November 2024, with possible extension.

Job description:

Join a team of passionate individuals dedicated to preventing human deaths from dog-mediated rabies. As the logistics officer, you will ensure that the vaccination team has sufficient materials, equipment, and support to roll out the vaccination campaign project.

Since its inception in 2019, Mission Rabies Cambodia (MRC) has vaccinated over 90,000 animals against rabies within Phnom Penh and Kandal Provinces. Through its partnerships with the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production (GDAHP) and the Institute Pasteur du Cambodge, MRC has been running Integrated Bite Case Management (IBCM) within Phnom Penh to identify high-risk human bite cases, enabling tracking and removal of rabid dogs from communities. In addition, Mission Rabies Cambodia has been integral to the development of both the National Strategic Plan for Rabies Elimination in Cambodia and the National Surveillance Guidelines for Rabies in Cambodia.

Duties

• Identify suitable hotels and transportation, and negotiate price
• Support to conduct Fire Risk Assessments
• Support organising food and water arrangements for the vaccination campaign
• Organize printing of t-shirts, education materials, banners.
• Organise purchases of technology for the project including phones, power banks, SIM cards, etc
• Organise the purchase of first aid equipment and put together kits
• Organise the purchase of vaccination equipment and put together kits
• Liaise with Tuk Tuk and taxi drivers for pre-project vehicle inspection
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure that the materials, equipment, and service are provided on time and with quality.
• Make sure that phones, power banks, and other project’s equipment are collected back and well stored in the warehouse
• Assist on other assigned tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years experience in logistics and procurement.
• Demonstration of organizational and self-management ability.
• Knowledge of operationalizing guidelines and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to set and manage priorities.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office/Google Suites.
• Enthusiasm for animal welfare and public health
• Well-written and verbal communication in both Khmer and English.
• No criminal record
• No previous employment termination for disciplinary behavior or bad job performance
• All of the above roles and responsibilities will be supported by the Mission Rabies team.
